Taichi
Taiji emphasizes subtle movements, flexibility, concentration, breathing techniquies, relaxation and balance; it is softer and slower than other martial arts, and is excellent for all ages. It is a great way to work on balance and fluidity, and for those recovering from injury. We practice Chen style taiji at JAMA, including silk reeling, and Qi Gong. The art emphasizes softness to overcome hardness and the motions learned can be directly linked to self defense by using the opponent's strength against them.
